Priscilla Konzani’s Narrative

A 19-year-old girl, Priscilla Konzani, who hails from Jiya Village in Traditional Authority Nsomba in Blantyre district, was found positive when both parents passed away in 2018.: “After the death of my parents, I could get sick each single day, and I decided to go for an HIV test at Mpemba Health Centre on May 12, 2020, where I was found HIV positive, and it was very hard for me to accept the results,” narrated Priscilla. Read More…

The Tiyanjane Hub, which was established in 2021 and has close to 40 members, is the only hub being supported by the health center. I became a member of the hub because of the activities and lectures provided by Manerela+ in collaboration with Tsoyo Health Center. My name is Sunati Wayiti. I am 25 years old, married, and have one child. I am a member of the Tsoyo Health Center’s Tiyanjane Hub, which I joined in 2021.

We received training on how to be mentor moms, which required us to work with local health professionals and other peer educators to empower and inspire HIV-positive expectant women and new mothers to take charge of their own health and that of their children. Read More…

Sosten Banda is my name. I’m 24 years old, married, and the father of a young child. I am from Mayani, in the area of Traditional Authority Tambala in Dedza. In 2021, I joined the Mayani Health Center’s Tikondane Hub.

Manerela+ introduced us to fresh approaches to family planning

I’m Jamila Daudi, a 22-year-old single mother. My home area is Mayani, in the area of Traditional Authority Tambala in Dedza district. I joined the Tikondane Hub of Mayani Health Centre in 2021.

Through awareness meetings with Manerela+ and Mayani Health Center workers, I have learned the proper ways of taking antiretroviral therapy (ART). I was previously taking the medication without regard for a schedule. My health suffered as a result, but ever since I started adhering to the right practices, my health has changed for the better.
